Prahran Square is located on the corner of Izzett and Chatham streets in Prahran (get directions).

There is a 500 bay underground car park and plenty of public transport options nearby.

Car park

Prahran Square has a 500 bay car park facility located directly below the parkland.

The car park is open 24 hours, enter via Izett Street.

The car park features:

  • accessible parking bays
  • travelator and elevators to both levels
  • charge point for electric vehicles
  • public amenities
  • 24-hour parking
  • 24-hour customer service.

Public transport

There are plenty of public transport options right on the doorstep of Prahran Square.

Train

Catch the Sandringham Line train to Prahran Station.  Exit the station and head east along Greville Street (towards Chapel Street) then left into Izett Street.

Tram

Tram Route 72 - exit at Stop 30 (Prahran Market and Commercial Road), at the corner of Izett Street.

Tram Route 78 - exit at Stop 47 (Commercial Road and Chapel Street) or Stop 48 (Chatham Street and Chapel Street).

Bus

Bus routes 603 and 604 stop on Commercial Road just outside Prahran Market, opposite Izett Street.

Walk or cycle

Cycle paths are located on Chapel Street and Commercial Road, or take the back streets for a leisurely ride or stroll.

There are a plenty of bike rack stations located around the Square.

Amenities

Toilets

Public and accessible toilets are located on the Terrace. Access via stairs or lift. 

A Changing Places facility is located on the Chatham Street end of Prahran Square. 

Rubbish bins

Rubbish bins for waste and recycling are located at each corner of Prahran Square and on the Lawn, the Terrace, The Forrest and Sensory Garden.

Lifts and travelators 

A lift is located on the Terrace and in the Car Park.

Both levels of the car park are accessible by travelator and lift from Wattle and Cato streets.

Water stations

Drinking water stations are located in Sensory Garden, Market Corner and on either side of the Lawn near Centre Square. These water stations are dog friendly.

Dog waste disposal

Dog waste disposal bags and bins are located on either side of the Lawn near Centre Square.

Shade

Permanent umbrellas are located on the Terrace and in Sensory Garden.

Picnic tables

Cafe style tables and chairs are located in Sensory Garden.

Centre Square

The Terrace

Take the weight o your feet and relax on the landscaped terraces from where you can enjoy a birds eye view across the whole parkland.

Library Services

Temporary relocated from Prahran Town Hall, regular library services will be available at Prahran Square, where guests can browse, borrow and read from popular collections, work, study or play.

Sensory Garden

Sit amongst the Sensory Garden with over 7000 types of plants and shrubs nestled below a grove of palms.

Water Fountain

A delightfully fun feature of the Square, the water fountain provides an enjoyable water play experience and endless entertainment for the children (and the young at heart).

The Forest

Enter the tranquil space of the Forest to relax on seating arranged under the shade trees.

Underground Carpark

Open 24hrs a day, Prahran Square has 500 underground car spaces across two underground levels. Access is located via. Ize Street

Business Development Lounge

Community facility to support and develop local businesses including opportunities for appointments in mentoring, coaching and consultation for businesses and traders.

The Hub

A new and flexible space to engage and interact with residents, visitors and businesses, offering the opportunity to provide Council services, visitor information and receive feedback from the community.
