Moving Art event at Prahran Square
Published on 11 November 2020
Melbourne Fringe will be holding a mass contemporary dance event on Saturday 21 November at Prahran Square. Created by multi-award winning Choreographer, Stephanie Lake, ‘Multiply’ is part of the Melbourne Fringe Festival, and will be the first local participatory artwork since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Participants will learn all the dance moves on the day, so anyone can take part in this contemporary movement. Unlike other performances, there will be no audience. However, the dance will be captured by professional filmmakers and made in to a film for release in 2021.
As well as being spaced two metres apart, each participant can be assured that a full COVID-Safe plan will be in place to ensure their safety.
The event is scheduled for Saturday 28 November, government restrictions permitting. If there is a need to postpone, the event will be moved to Saturday 13 March, 2021.
Multiply is a part of the Melbourne Fringe Festival, which will be running from the 12 to 29 November.
